- Climate Battery Greenhouse tour at 7200 feet on a mountain in Colorado! Boiling Frog Productions - This is a climate battery greenhouse located at 7200 feet on a mountain in Basalt Colorado. The Colorado Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute - CRMPI - is able to grow tropical plants such as banana trees and other edible fruits and vegetables using only the power and heat from the sun. The greenhouse is able to maintain it's own heat even in frigid temperatures of -30F / -34.4c by using the climate batteries stored heat from the sun!
- 5 Misconceptions About Climate Battery Greenhouses Threefold Farm - I wanted to cover a few common misconceptions that I regularly hear or get asked about regarding climate battery or geothermal greenhouses in general to hopefully shed light on the subject.
- Climate Battery Greenhouse Airflow Velocity Simulation - Side View Four Layer Design Threefold Farm - Climate battery air velocity simulation. Simulation using 24" riser (10' long), 18" manifolds (20' long), 4" corrugated perforated tubes (~22' long) installed on 15" centers down the manifold. Simulation runs with smooth wall pipe rather than corrugated used in real life. Tubing runs are spaced 2' apart vertically in the soil profile. 5,000 cfm fans used in a push/pull orientation on both risers to increase air velocity and aid in balancing airflow.
- How To Design A Climate Battery for a Greenhouse VergePermaculture - In this video we will review how a climate battery, also known as a subterranean heating and cooling system works. There are a lot of misunderstandings on how to design and build one of these systems so first we will cover the basic theory behind them. When designing one of these systems it is critical to understand how air moves through a duct system, why it is important to size it and how to go about doing this.
